Conformation Judge's Critique
Mrs KIM SILLITO-BEALE Sillito Poodles United Kingdom

This critique was supplied to us by the hosting club, The Poodle Club of Queensland, 02 November 2005

I would like to apologise for the delay with this critique. The DVD‚s were along time coming to go with my notes but they were so worth waiting for with some memories of a lifetime! I very much enjoyed meeting you all and would like to thank you again for bring along your poodles for me to see.

The Officers and Committee of the Queensland Poodle Club had clearly worked their socks off to put on a super smart event such as this 7th Poodle National. They are to be congratulated heartily for their devotion and hard work in making this show the success it was.

All exhibitors were extremely friendly and I enjoyed the sporting way in which the decisions were taken. There is always another day and another judge who will see things differently. You ALWAYS take the best dog home.

No one agrees with the judge all of the time ˆ I am an exhibitor too ˆ sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Hopefully though you have a lovely day and enjoy the company of your fellow breeders / exhibitors and your dogs.

Your poodles were excellent and many would hold their own anywhere in the world. The three BOB‚s were breathtaking and there were many others that will become big stars.

I know that some of you did not like the fact that I used measures ˆ but our UK Breed Standard says the same as the Australian one. The word SHOULD is quite different to MUST. Our Breed Standards are the same! I repeat this because I gave up counting the times I was told that it was Œdifferent in the UK‚. The measure is a guide and to be used in conjunction with everything else about the dog. How do you know unless you measure what size the dog is? No exhibit was upset by the measures and I hope that I am never considered a measure fanatic!! A little Œover‚ is just one thing!

I was also told (by an Australian when I got back to the UK) that you are allowed to use lacquer et al. I looked in your rules and funnily enough I could find no reference to this. I am not an anti spray fanatic either - this is a beauty show and no judge is ever fooled by hairspray ˆ and it enhances a nice topknot frame to the face. I do not care for over use ˆ and I don‚t like it in body coat .I like a Poodle to look balanced and like a Poodle ˆ not a Œcartoon cut out‚. Some country‚s poodles are beginning to look like this! Some beauty aids I don‚t care for and I was amused to see whites with glossy black Œpainted‚ toenails and there were some dogs that had a very unnatural glow in the sunlight!

I also do not care to judge just on hairdressing. There were some very good poodles whose Œmum‚s were not the best trimmers. Sometimes too much emphasis is put on the biggest topknot or even the Œfastest‚ mover. There is THE DOG as a whole to be considered. This may explain to the ringside some decisions that they just didn‚t Œget‚. There is so much more to a Poodle than coat.

Your poodles in the main had lovely temperaments and your work on the colours ˆ particularly in the smaller sizes - is to be greatly admired.

I came back to England and have bored my friends / fellow breeders with tales of praise about your dogs.

Thank you for showing it was my pleasure to meet you and your Poodles....

Kim Sillito-Beale

BREED JUDGING RESULTS

MINIATURES

CL1

1. Drayton's JONDOLYN MASTER CLASS

Very attractive, promising and handsome black with the most lovely moulded head. He moved very well the first time and I saw what I needed to see! His confidence then failed him ˆ but I liked him enough to win here.

2. Storie's ADELTOY DEVINE AXIL

Very nice white with a lovely head and eye, good mouth. Nice front and excellent feet. At the moment at the Œlegs and wings‚ stage ˆ and not using his neck. As with most whites they are slow to mature. Should mature nicely. This boy was a happy and confident mover.

CL2

1. Stone's WYDERON DEVIL INDISGUISE

A really smart puppy with a very pleasing head and eye. At present needs to tighten in front ˆ but he is only young. Full of natural exuberance. He has the promise of an excellent coat and I liked his carriage.

CL3

1. Missen's WESTPRIORS BLACK ROMANO also CC, RUBOB + Puppy In Show

What an absolute picture! The most lovely chiseled headpiece (with a gorgeous expression) on a sturdy yet elegant frame with flowing lines and in complete balance. I loved his overall construction and he had a fabulous coat that was presented to perfection without being Œoverdone‚. I loved his carriage and tail carriage. He moved soundly and effortlessly. I thought he was a real Œstar‚. On the second day he moved and performed like an accomplished show boy and won BPIS over some gorgeous puppies that I also loved!

2. Sculac/MacKenzie's JENUIN MASTER NCOMMANDER

Another lovely headed boy with lots of promise. I liked his topline and carriage. He is a great showman in excellent body condition. Just needs a little more time to fill out in coat. I found him very smart and sound and liked him a lot.

3. Crilley's TANJE WHERES WALL

Another lovely puppy ˆ this class shows what promising males there are coming along. This boy has lots going for him; he just wasn‚t as mature and collected as the first two. Another with a lovely temperament.

CL4

1. Westren/Cohen's ALAMOANA KALUAH N CREAM

What a smashing picture this brown boy made. Only just 12m and a very polished performer. Lovely coat and a pleasing even colour. I would prefer him a little more refined in head ˆ but his head does suit his frame. He has a kind intelligent expression and his shade of eye colour suits his coat. I loved to watch him move and thought this boy has a lot to offer.

2. Clojo Knls CLOJO WILD ABOUT HARRY

What a glamorous white chap this is. He has a beautiful coat and was very well turned out in excellent condition. Well constructed and is very sound although I felt not driving from the rear as much as I would like. Attractive head and that lovely expression that dark eyed whites have. He still has some maturing to do I feel. However, I liked him a lot but the brown was putting all in.

3. Leidle/Pajtl's ELIRE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION

Lovely headed larger boy. He was a rangier type and is still maturing I felt. Very much Œlegs and wing‚s and lost his topline on the move. Still has plenty of time.

CL5

1. Isopenko's CH GEORGIO AUS DEM SCHNECKENHAUS (Gmny)

What a lovely colour this apricot boy is. Overall a very nicely balanced shape and is well constructed. A very proficient and sound mover who is light and springy on his feet. He was a little unsettled on the table but came into his own on the ground. I liked his head and eye. A really nice quality poodle that was well handled to get the very best out of him. He has so much to offer this colour. Caused much entertainment ˆ when he had the longest Œshow-ring pee‚ in history !

CL10

1. Darling's CH BIENAIME DEBANJO BOY

This well coated boy in full lion has the most wonderful head and eye. He is also very sound. In good coat that was well presented. He has a lovely show temperament and uses himself well. A smart and stylish exhibit that I liked very much..

2. Barton's MYFLAIR TAKE A CHANCE

Another very sound boy with a great coat that was well presented. He just decided he didn‚t want to put any effort into his showing today.

CL11

1. Walker's CH REETPETITE JUSTA CRUISER also RCC

Lovely short backed great moving boy with heaps of style and pizzazz. He has the loveliest of personalities. Lovely to handle on the table. Very nice head and eye. Great show boy who cooperates beautifully with his handler. In the challenge he just lost out on the overall balance and appeal of the glorious puppy. A lovely quality exhibit who will always find favour.

2. Edwards/Lomas's GR CH COIFICO JACK DANIELS

Great head and eye on this well constructed boy in very smart continental trim. Wonderfully presented in lovely coat and condition. Moved with great enthusiasm. Has lots to offer and was close up.

3. Buckland's CH JONDOLYN JUSTA REBEL

The sweetest of expressions on this attractive black in lion trim. He is very sound and has a lovely temperament. Well constructed and in good body. Just coating back up for the veterans after growing his coat . This boy has lots to offer and I noted I liked some of his children. A real charmer.

CL1A

1. Ward's ZILLARA VANITY BY DZINE

Just a baby but what a little cracker she is. Short backed but balanced with lovely overall confirmation. Everything as I would want at this age. Lovely mover and nice tail carriage which is important on an undocked puppy. More than promising, a future star with ordinary luck!

2. Drayton's JONDOLYN BELLE NOIRE

This girl too has what it takes. Very promising and so very pretty and feminine and having fun in the ring. Lovely free mover . Shows much promise for the future.

3. Darling's BIENAIME KELTIC QUEEN

Very happy, beautiful headed baby. Another promising girl in excellent quality coat. Smart on the move. This class pleased me.

CL2A

1. Wyatt's WYDERON SCARLET OHARA

Very pretty and refined. Still needs to mature. Lovely eye and expression. A very busy little person on the move and didn‚t concentrate on her carriage. She is only young and has time on her side.

CL3A

1. Goodfellow/Hood's CROSSWYNDS WITHOUT LIMITS

11 months glorious headed brown, with a great eye and expression. Lovely overall shape and conformation. In super coat and well presented. She is a great and stylish, enthusiastic mover. I loved her.

CL4A

1. Johnston/Edwards' COIFICO COSTUME DRAMA

Another lovely quality coated brown girl. Gorgeous head and eye. Immaculate presentation. Lovely construction and well bodied. Very sound, steady and stylish. Didn‚t quite put all in the bitch challenge ˆ but came back on the 2nd day and showed her socks off! I loved her too!

2. Pajtl's ELIRE FROM RUSSIA W LOVE

A super black with a great outline. In lovely coat and was beautifully presented. Lovely free extending mover and nicely made. I liked her head and pretty eye, altogether a high quality exhibit.

3. Edmonds/Missen's WESTPRIORS BLACK TEMPTATION

Another super jet black in full lion. Extremely pretty and a great showgirl with lots to like. Super quality.

4. Drayton's CH JONDOLYN PRETTY WOMAN

Another pretty Miss with great carriage. A quality exhibit who just needs to fill out a little more in coat finish.

CL5A

What a super class! Several went cardless that I really liked too.

1. Harris's CH ELIRE IN VOGUE

Very fine with a gorgeous head and eye. In a very full coated glamorous lion trim. She moved beautifully with heaps of style and great precision.

2. Sculac/MacKenzie's CH JENUIN OHSO PRETTY

Very cobby and smart. In lovely coat. Pretty face and nice with it. Happy girl on the move although needs to concentrate on holding her topline a little more.

3. Boot/Edwards's CH COIFICO TRICKS OTH TRADE

Another very feminine girl. Lovely coat and presentation. Super outline and lots of style.

CL10A

1. Clojo Knls' CH CLOJO KINDA CAUSIN CAOS

An extremely glamorous ice white, beautifully presented in lion trim. She was a real poppet with such a divine expression. Smart and showy. Could have used a little more weight to advantage and because of this she was a little close at the rear. I loved her and still feel her best is to come with more body condition.

2. Botha/Watkins's SABONEL MADEMOSELL

Gorgeous black girl in a very smart continental trim. I loved her. She was a very accomplished showgirl with a lovely temperament who gave her very best on the move and clearly adores her handler. Very pretty head and eye, this was a hard decision in this class.

3. Edwards' CH COIFICO GLASS SLIPPER

Very pretty brown. A smart and sound mover. Lots to like. In excellent condition and displaying a lovely free moving action. I liked her a lot.

4. Buckland's CH JONDOLYN PRETTY PICTURE

Not disgraced in this company. Another class act with a pretty head and eye who looked very smart and balanced on the pose and who is a sound free mover. .

CL11A

1. Goodfellow/Hoods's CH CROSSWYNDS FULL THROTTLE also CC + BOB

She came into the ring and I couldn‚t take my eyes off her! My notes just read Œfab‚ Œfab‚ Œfab‚. The most feminine even coloured cocoa brown in full coat with the most balanced of constructional proportions. I loved her pretty head and eye with such a wicked expression. Lovely to go over in all departments. A truly classic poodle who came into her own on the move and she did that so very well. Smart with great drive and carriage. She covered plenty of ground and with little effort. She was in great coat and beautifully presented in full lion trim. Sympathetically handled to give her - her head on the move. A truly great Miniature Poodle. She won BOB (along with a lifelong fan in me) and looked a picture. She was way up there in the BIS decision the following day but she did just lose her concentration and her coordination on the last run off. She is still young.

2. Sculac/MacKenzie's CH JENUIN INDIANNA also RCC

Another truly beautiful bitch a little more petite than the brown but in such lovely proportion. Very smart and showy and I adored her head and eye. She displayed perfect showmanship and could hold her own anywhere. I loved her on the table and loved watching her on the ground. A real poppet.

3. Pajtl's CH MY DREAM STSVETOCHNOI POLJANY (Russia)

Larger and rangier in type girl, with a very elegant and attractive head and eye. Very feminine expression. Sound and smart mover. I just preferred the balance and type of the first two.

4th was another honest bitch, not as glamorous as the first three but soundly constructed and with a lot to like.

STANDARDS

CL1

1. Graham's SEAGRAM ACE OF DIAMONDS

A very raw baby boy. Nice dark brown coat ˆ I would prefer his eye to be a little darker. He has a nice shape and can move soundly. A charmer who just needs to gain more confidence. .

CL2

1. Wright's VOILA VIRTUAL REALITY

7 months well grown jet black in lovely coat. Attractive head and eye, good mouth. Smart front and a very athletic mover. Shows great promise although I feel his topline could come up more as he was looking a little longer cast than I would like on a male. His Œfirst puppy‚ trim at present didn‚t help the impression.

CL3

1. Kaaks/Sach/Thomas-Howe's MARECHAL MY MAIN MAN

Smart white with a lovely outline. Very nice to go over. Attractive head and eye. Lovely profile movement but a little lose fore and aft at the moment. He is still a baby and just needs to firm up and co ordinate himself. Very imposing on the stack.

2. Pellinkhof's JURADO ITS MY TURN

A lovely jet black male with a slightly heavier head than the white but who shows lots of promise and has time to develop.

3. Wadner's JURADO WHATS IN A NAME

Beautifully presented white of a rangier type. Still lose overall. Attractive head and eye not holding his topline as well as he could.

There was a lovely-headed white in 4th that just lost his confidence.

CL4

1. Boyd's PICARDY MAN O WAR

A tall and stately white who made a very imposing picture on the stack with a wealth of well presented coat. He had an attractive head and eye although I think he could chisel down a little more with maturity. He was sound enough although I felt needs to develop muscle a little more as he lacked drive going away from me today, perhaps the heat was getting to him.

2. Clements's NEIGER BRUIN

A very nice headed brown boy who was extremely sound but not as coordinated as the white above him. Today he was not using his head carriage. Construction wise is fine and he shows great promise with maturity.

CL5

1. Myers's CH KELLYVIX DEJA VU

A leggy black with a smart outline. Nicely constructed and is very smart and sound on the move showing great reach and drive. Immaculate presentation in great condition. A nice exhibit.

2. Judge's GIDAY MELBOURNE STORM

Equally handsome black but slightly heavier . A lovely temperament and a natural showman. Very smart on the move overall a really quality boy.

3. Wadner's CH LEIGHBRIDGES TAILEND CHARLEY (UK)

Lovely coated jet black. A very sound and honest boy who has a lovely nature. For me I would prefer more refinement in head. Happy and willing mover.

The brown in this class just didn‚t want to show today, I think he was feeling the heat.

CL10

1. Fitzgerald/Cottrell's CH MISTIVALE LONE RANGER also RCC & A/Bred IS

I just loved everything about this classically proportioned poodle. A fully mature even coloured Œminky‚ brown. He was handled and presented to get the best out of him without being overdone in any way. He was lovely to go over and in good hard body. He is clearly exercised well judging by his muscle condition. His enthusiasm and willingness to parade and drive around the ring was a joy to watch. He possesses a super head with correct chiseling and balance. Squarely built with correct neck. Super quarters to propel him around. I absolutely loved him as his later awards proved.

2. Boyd's CH PICARDY MAN INA MILLION

A very smart lovely headed white who was beautifully turned out. Very sound and watcheable around the ring. He didn‚t quite have the ground coverage or flexion from the rear as the brown. In lovely abundant ice white coat and body condition. A high quality boy who I rated highly.

3. Sharpe's CH DANRIGHT MAN IN BLACK

A sound and honest black boy with a handsome outlook. A quality exhibit.

4. Wright/McMahon's CH VOILA VALENTINO

Very smart white with a lovely coat and pleases in construction. Lots to like.

The final one in this class unfortunately went lame after an accident on the day. I do hope he is now recovered.

CL11

1. Wright's GR CH VOILA CANADIAN CLUB (AI) also CC, BOB, RUBIS

Exciting and definitely a magnificent specimen in anyone‚s book. A powerful all stallion male in full jet-black coat that was groomed to literal perfection ˆ some serious effort had gone into making his coat look like plush velvet. He looked wonderful and in the peak of muscular condition. He stormed round the ring and at first I thought he would be just Œtoo much‚ but he settled then to the job in hand. He has an attractive head and eye, and in view of his age I feel his head will still chisel down more. He has everything going for him. His handler gets the best out of him although at times I felt he was moving too fast. When I slowed him down he showed he is an accomplished mover in great form. An imposing and truly superb Standard Poodle that could hold his own anywhere in the world..

2. Boyd/Foulds's CH LAKE COVE'S TRENDSETTER (USA)

Another smart black boy with great carriage and fabulous coat and lots to like. Another who was moved too fast really ˆ a little wayward in coordination. I loved his profile movement going round the ring. Lovely attitude and temperament. A really top notch quality boy who made a striking picture on the pose. Will always be in the frame.

3. Whiteley's CH STANDING STRONG WILL TO POWER (NDL)

Another very worthy boy who was not discraced by this 3rd. In lovely coat and has a pleasing head and eye. Very nice to go over and flows nicely into a free extending style of mover. Everything in the right place and perhaps just not putting all into his showing as the other two today.

4. Dryburgh's GR CH KATEISHA THE CHILL FACTOR (NZ)

Ultra smart white boy that I really like. In this class he was giving such a lot away in coat finish and lustre. Lovely profile mover and sound going away but was toeing in ˆ in front today, which counted in such tough competition. A very smart quality white who is clearly passing his style on to his children as I liked several today.

CL1A

1. Valvasori's SYLVENUS SHOWCASE

Very sweet and promising black baby who was a lovely free mover when she was of a mind to perform. Great personality who I think shows real promise. I loved her. Such a pretty face and such charm.

CL2A

1. Bennett's DANRITH GINGER IN HEELS

A really honest and correctly built girl. I loved the way my hands flowed over her make and shape. No exaggerations ˆ just everything in the right place and topped with enthusiasm and great charm. A really very promising young standard.

2. Wright's VOILA REALITY CHECK

Very smartly presented ice white. She is very pretty and feminine and these two will change places many times I‚m sure. She shows great promise but today the winner out performed her on the move. When this girl gels on the move she will impress most.

CL3A

1. McCarron's JURADO CLOUD NINE

A very smart and leggy black girl who although at the Œlegs and wings‚ stage shows great promise. I loved her personality and gave a good account of herself on the move.

2. Yet Foy's JURADO LILY MARLENE

Another pretty headed black who shows the same qualities as her sister but with not as good tail carriage today.

CL4A

1. Whiteley's AGLAIA MORE THAN A GAME also RCC

A very feminine and pretty Standard with the type of head and eye I was looking for. She is a very promising youngster who still has to mature but her overall balance and true poodle type impressed me greatly. I found her to be extremely sound on the move (with a lovely tail carriage) and when she got going displayed an effortless way of covering ground that some faster movers just couldn‚t match. Faster is not better and I think if this girl matures as well as she is looking now will impress many more. She was sensibly presented too ˆ not overdone. I liked this quality Standard Poodle. In the challenge she got her act together after a few skittish moments and settled on the move and hence moved up the challenge line.

2. Boyd/Gordon's PICARDY DIAMOND LIL

A very smart glamour girl who had a wealth of ice white coat. She too is very pretty but not quite the chiseling and moulding in head as the black. She made a very imposing picture on the stack and is sound but just needs to gel together on the move. She is still young. Will impress for her lovely temperament and femininity.

3. Everest's SEGRAM VICTORIAS MY NAME

Another very promising young lady who was in lovely condition. She is nice to go over and is very sound although she too just needs to collect herself on the move. She is young and has such a lovely temperament that time is on her side. All the essentials are here including a super thick coat. She looked very smart on the pose with a good neck and outline.

CL5A

1. Dryburgh/Hanson's TEZER SENSATIONALISM also CC

A very smart young black with the prettiest of heads and the loveliest of expressions. I found her to be of a balanced shape and pleased me in all departments. I liked the way she moved in that she had the correct flexion and drive. In the challenge I found myself drawn back to her time and again. She didn‚t give up the charm offensive for one second and her overall type and balance clinched her the CC. A super quality poodle in anyone‚s book.

2. Cottrell's MISTIVALE CADBURYS DREAM (AI)

A gloriously feminine and exquisitely pretty brown. I loved her overall type. She is a pretty chestnut colour and her eye matched her coat.

She is sound and smart with a lovely neck and outline. Very well constructed and muscled enabling her to be very precise and correct on the move. However, I am afraid this girl is way too thin and I felt she was feeling the heat.

3.Clements's CH EMMOGE FLYIN FIRST CLASS

A powerful mover and honest bitch who had a lovely coat and outline, she is a quality girl but I preferred the femininity of the first two.

CL10A

1. Glerum/Thomas-Howe's CH MARECHAL SWEDISH ACCENT

A very pretty white with a lovely outline on the pose. She has the loveliest of natures and is a natural showgirl although she was a little bit Œtippie toes‚ in movement today with very itchy feet and in a bit of a hurry. I am not sure if the handler had stretched her out more on the move she would have extended more. However, a lot to like. Well presented in lovely condition, wealth of good coat .

CL11A

1. Ainsworth/Easter's CH RETSAE ESPRIT DE LUNE

This girl is not an Œin your face‚ type of Standard she is the honest and solid kind that draws you back to her time and again for her pretty head and pretty expressive eye. Lovely construction and in total balance. She pleased me going over and is sound and smart on the move. She doesn‚t need to race to show her drive and flexion. A nice Œeasy‚ way of going. She was sensibly presented and I felt she was ultra correct in body construction. I was disappointed that she didn‚t quite put all in for the challenge and drive out as much, I think she was feeling the heat. A very worthy and quality exhibit in anyone‚s book.

2. Boyd/Foulds's GR CH JURADO TOP SHELF

A truly magnificent looking almost blue-black girl. She is so very ultra short backed and stacked up with her showy presentation and very high topknot she made a smart Œacross the ring‚ picture. I loved her head and eye. She has such a kind and pretty expression. She is a very happy and willing showgirl. However I found that I preferred the overall, and not Œoverdone‚, poodle balance of the white.

3. Easter's CH RETSAE COME WHAT MAY

Another oh so pretty white with lots to like. I see that she is the sister to the winner of this class. She isn‚t as well pigmented as her sister - but has many of her qualities and the breeder should be proud of the type she produced. A very honest and balanced shape. She too has a lovely way of going. These girls should be diamonds in the nursery!

TOYS

CL1

1. Shackleford/Seckold's CENTATOY SIROCCO

A very lovely coated 4m black. Well bodied and is a great little mover. Nicely constructed and has heaps of style. I liked him a lot.

2. Vimpany's TOYOPET THATZ A RAP

Slightly smaller than 1st with a lovely outline and he has a truly lovely head and eye. Just moving wider behind than 1st today.

3. Ward's ZILLARA VANDAL IN XS

Another lovely headed baby at a very tender 3m. Shows great promise ˆ my notes say I may like him the best of the three later in life!

CL2

1. Mayes's COLLENDINA MI ROLLS ROYCE

Leggy elegant brown that I liked. He has a very elegant head and eye, good mouth and a lovely outline. What a lovely temperament and attitude. He is a very sound and smart mover. Very nice boy.

2. Henville's ELLUJE READY TO RUMBLE

Mature looking white boy of a lovely shape and is of nice quality. He was sound in front but today a little restricted in rear. I preferred the elegance of the brown.

CL3

1. Camac's CHEZJOLIE INCANTATIOUS also RCC

I just adored everything about this boy and this was the one that I could have happily smuggled home in my suitcase! He is only 6 months and spot on for size, make, shape and total balance. Gorgeous on the table and super sound and stylish on the move. Jet black coat of super thickness and texture for his tender age. I could look at his lovely head and eye all day. His temperament and showmanship were super. He was close up for the CC even at 6months. On the 2nd day he just gave away a little in age to the Miniature boy. I described this puppy to a fellow (Toy) breeder when I got home to the UK as Œtoe-curlingly exciting‚. He shows all the promise in the world. He is exactly Œmy type‚. As you can tell - I loved him!!!

2. Horton's INKOMA NORDIC CRUSADER

Lovely elegant brown who has a lovely head and eye. Very collected and stylish on the move. Satisfying to go over on the table and nicely balanced. A good coat in colour and quality. A smart picture on the stack and on the move. A lot to like about this boy.

CL4

1. Walls's CH JOIEDEVIVRE KICK IT TOME

A very glamorous ice white boy in full lion trim and in beautiful coat. Very lovely head and eye. He is as sound as a bell and makes an elegant picture on the pose. I liked him very much. Beautifully presented and handled.

2. Woodward's DOOTWA ISHKA IMPACT

A nice black with a refined and classic head and eye. Confident show boy. I liked him too but he is only young and just needs to fill out a bit in body. Great coat that was nicely presented. Lovely outline.

3. Harvey/Hodgson/Stone's BEDDYDANE SILVERNYONE

A super little silver boy who was in good coat and is nicely made enabling him to move soundly with great rear extension. He just needs to concentrate on coordination and work on his head carriage. Attractive head and dreamy expressive eyes. Colour clearing nicely.

4. Nutt's SPRIBEAU DREAM WEAVER

Refined apricot who is very sound. He has an attractive head and has so much going for him. Very confident and showy on the move.

CL5

1. Cartwright/Bell's TONIRI DESIRED IMPACT

A lovely headed silver boy in smart continental trim. Very sound and stylish on the move. Great reach and drive. I loved his make and shape and he had a lovely temperament.

2. Nason's CH BEDDYDANE CHOCCHEESE CAKE

A lovely type mature brown. This is a very smart quality exhibit who is clearing nicely to a café au lait. Very smart and a super head and eye. Good neck and outline on the pose.

CL10

1. Mears's CH MONCHERRIE IN HOT PURSUIT

A super smart tiny apricot with a very lovely head and eye. Good coat and presentation. He is a great mover and has so much going for him.

2. Chapman/Parrott's CHAPFORD TERRIFIC TOYBOY

A very beautifully presented white boy in excellent coat. He is leggier than the apricot but I liked his balance. However I found him to be a little thin and I felt this affected his movement. Time is on his side. A quality boy who gave a good impression and will always appeal

3. Hills's CH KENMAR JUST A STUNNER

A tiny bown chap with a huge personality. He is nice to go over and a great little mover. Just needs more time on his coat and furnishings to complete the picture..

4. Nutt's CH MONCHERRIE COIN A FRAZE

A lovely colour ˆ I gather litter brother to the winner, this boy was just a bit heavier.

CL11 What a really super Open Dog Class. I really rated these boys.

1. Budd/Schipp's CH SAUVAGE THATS OUR MAN also CC + RUBOB

A really beautiful head eye and expression on this fabulously coated black. In wonderful condition and very pleasing to go over on the table. Lovely topline which he holds so well on the move. In full lion trim although at times the shape of his middle pom made him appear to move a little close at the rear/ Nice reach from the side. This boy is elegant and was in his absolute prime which tipped the decision in his favour for the CC over the absolutely gorgeous puppy that had won my heart.

2. Jenville's CH ALLUJE VIVA LAS VEGAS

A really gorgeous silver boy in great coat and with a super outline, I thought him one of the best I had seen of this colour (I hadn‚t seen the wonderful silver girls at this stage!) This boy is way up there as a true Champion and a worthy representative of this lovely colour. A real gem!. Smart showy and with a lovely attitude. Lovely head and eye.

3. Woodward's CH DOOTWA DESTINE FOR FAME

Another classic headed boy ˆ there wasn‚t much between these chaps. This boy is a true champion and a great showman with lovely reach and drive. Super temperament. A cliché ˆ but I liked him too!

4. Bright's GR CH TOYOPET SONGDANZ MAN

Another great showman in super form. This chap also has what it takes and uses what he has got to absolute best advantage. He shows with such enthusiasm .I just preferred the balance of the winners today.

CL1a

1. Nutt's HALLABY FLYING SPIRITS

Lovely make and shape on this apricot baby. When she found her feet knew how to move nicely too. However ˆ she did only let me see what she can do in short bursts. Very promising.

2. Woodward's ZILLARA VANDALIZA

Cobby and small and very feminine. The apricot was a little more precise in movement today ˆ but these babies were so happy and enjoying themselves it was a shame to make them take it seriously!

1. Brennan's SILVISTA ALL THAT GLITTERS (NZ)

Very pretty ice white glamour girl in lovely coat. Very nice temperament and self assured mover with everything going in the correct place. Lovely to go over on the table. Was well handled and presented

2. Kentwell's MISTYKENT GOLD STORM

A pretty face on this apricot. She still needs a little time to gain confidence on the table. Very bouncy on the move. She has the promise of a lovely coat. An asset to this colour.

1. Ward's VIVARA CARNAVAL

A fabulous headed rangy type black girl I just loved her overall type and shape. I note she is a daughter of the winner of Aus.Bred. Very elegant. Lovely head eye and dreamy expression. Very smart and self-assured. Very sound and stylish. Showed herself with great aplomb for such a youngster. I liked her a lot.

2. Steele's PETITLATOY HOT CHILLY

Pretty little brown of lovely make and shape with a nice neckline. A happy little girl who shows great promise.

3. Cartwright's TONIRI DANCING QUEEN

A pretty silver in excellent coat who although sound just needs to gel together in carriage. Nice to go over on the table.

4. McRobie's ADITHE REMEMBER M NAME

Very pretty girl who although was Ok on the table was flagging a bit on the move. She is nicely made but her heart wasn‚t in it today.

Small black in nice coat. Pretty head and eye. Smart on the move although with not as much freedom as the 1st.

1. Chapman/Parrott's CH CHAPFORD ROCKS INA FROCK also RCC

What a little silver poppet this is. In very smart continental trim with a head and eye to die for. I loved everything about her. She pleases in all departments on the table. On the floor she comes into her own driving happily round the ring with little effort and lots of extension and drive. In lovely body condition. She is still young and has time to mature so the best is yet to come with this girl. She and Silver Spotlight moving around together made a very special picture.

2. Steele's CH RENOIR OH WHAT A NIGHT (NZ)

Small and pretty. Lovely shape and moved well. Very nice outline and presented in good coat and condition.

3. Thomasen's CH LEFAY TAKES TWO TO TANGO

Very pretty short backed girl in lovely coat. Excellent temperament. Although she is sound enough ˆtoday she was not holding her topline as well as she is built to.

4. Everest's CH BEAUVRE SOPHIES CHOICE

Sound and honest. Very pretty with a lovely expression.

CL10a

1. Vimpany's CH VIVARA LOOK AT MOI

A smartly tailored black in full lion with a super outline. I found her very nice to go over. She pleased in all departments. Very sound and smart on the move. I particularly liked her head and eye. She is obviously a special girl by producing the lovely Puppy winner. This is a quality girl who will appeal to many.

2. Westren/Cohen's CH ALAMOANA DANCE N SWING

This girl was short and nicely balanced. She has a nice head and eye and is able to move well. She wasn‚t putting all in to her showing, as much as the 1st, but I liked her a lot.

3. Hythere Knls HYTHERE PAGAN SILVER

An honest silver girl with an excellent coat. Nice to go over with everything there to enable her to move well. Today she wasn‚t holding her topline.

1. Roberts's CH ELVOER SILVER SPOTLIGHT also CC + BOB

Well, this little diamond waltzed into the ring and made the whole show her own. She is the prettiest silver I have ever seen. She would be super in any colour! I just adored her head eye and very lovely expression. To go over I thought she was absolutely spot on ˆ and I would not have changed a single thing. She was absolutely beautifully presented in great coat and condition. She had a handler who clearly adores her and this girl responded beautifully to every request to move which she did with great style and soundness. She has super carriage and a correct tail carriage too ˆ which is unusual. Lovely drive and ground coverage. I couldn‚t take my eyes off her and the hotter it got the better she went. She kept up this wonderful charm offensive all through the day and would not be ignored! She is a true gem of a poodle and I will sing her praises forever! She is a jewel of a Toy Poodle and fully deserved her prestigious awards. She made a lovely pairing with the smart Dog CC winner and against the wonderful Standard and Miniature BOB‚s she re twinkled those black almond eyes in my direction and that huge rosette was hers along with my heart!!

2. Woodwards's CH POMPETTE THE ENCHANTRES

A lovely headed bitch with so much to offer. I loved her type on the table and she moved beautifully with great style. This was the independent Miss that knew how to show so well ˆ she left her handler behind and Œdid it on her own‚ . A very high quality girl who appealed greatly.

3. Horton's INKOMA MERRI DUCHESS

Very nice type. Short backed and cobby in lovely condition and coat. She was very nice to go over on the table and although sound didn‚t carry herself with as much aplomb today as the two above her. I think she was getting warm.

4. MacKenzie/Sculac's MONTAIRES SILHOUETTE

Another quality girl moving and showing well. Lovely character. This Open Bitch class was a delight to judge with so much choice and great quality in depth.

These girls are the future and it looks very bright if they produce as good as themselves!
